Counselors Corner

Decide. Commit. Succeed.

Who is my counselor?

Welcome to the SEG Counselor Corner! Our team of Professional School Counselors work hard to have the most up-to-date information that our students and families need to continue to be successful in our school community and as they transition into their post-secondary pathways.

Our office hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm and Fridays 7:30 am - 2:00 pm. We are located in the Student Development Office directly across from the cafeteria for students to access during their lunchtime.

Counselors are assigned by Advisory. If you would like to make an appointment with your student's counselor or have a question for our Post Secondary Coach

STUDENTS, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! PLEASE REACH OUT FOR HELP IF NEEDED. THESE SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE 24 HRS AND YOU CAN SPEAK WITH A MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL.

STAY SAFE…YOU MATTER!

● The Illinois Department of Human Services’ Mental Health Division has launched a free-of-charge emotional support text line, Call4Calm, for Illinois residents experiencing stress and mental health issues related to COVID-19. Individuals who would like to speak with a mental health professional can text “TALK” to 5-5-2-0-2-0, or for Spanish, “HABLAR” to the same number: 5-5-2-0-2-0.

Call4Calm is free to use, and individuals will remain anonymous. Once a resident sends a text to the hotline, within 24 hours they will receive a call from a counselor employed by a local community mental health center to provide support.

Individuals can also text 5-5-2-0-2-0, with keywords such as “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” and will receive information on how to navigate and access supports and services.
